They are used to crush and break up clods that cannot be broken up by soil cultivation tools and to level the field surface. Rollers can be used on the field before and after sowing. When inserted before sowing, they crush the clods of the tilled field, compact the soil, and create a balance between air pockets, regulating the soil's water-air ratio and preparing a good seedbed.
After sowing, they help increase the contact between the seeds and the soil, bringing the water in the lower layers closer to the area where the seeds are located, thus aiding germination.
